This project consisted of a reworking of a large portion of the main floor. The goals were to simplify circulation, strengthen spatial connections, and improve overall functionality. The kitchen, once a small, dark corner of the home, was expanded and reoriented to maximize on light and flow. A large island supports prep work, casual dining, and daily activities, while a layered palette of warm, handcrafted materials and carefully selected hardware creates a cohesive, grounded interior.

Exterior improvements included a new courtyard and privacy screen with a clearly defined entry point.

Off of the kitchen, a redundant hallway was reconfigured to open up the flow and increase light between living spaces while also maintaining a private path to the guest suite.

The project balances functional upgrades with respect for the home’s original character.
